ZimPraise Celebrates 10th Anniversary with a host of powerful speakers

Legacy of great commission

They brought vibrancy and added colour to a genre that had become bland and boring. Zimbabwean gospel music had become all too predictable, with the identifiable sound of a keyboard marking almost every intro to each gospel song.

ZimPraise who are an interdenominational Praise and Worship group of passionate Christian Musicians from different backgrounds and denominations came together 10 years ago to form one massive Praise and Worship Music team. They transformed gospel music as we knew it and injected life into a genre that time had forgotten in the past.

Gospel music videos, all of a sudden had a touch of class infused into them and gospel music concerts gave circular music some stiff competition. All this came about courtesy of ZimPraise.

The groups influence was not restricted to Zimbabwean boarders, so great was their talent they were recognised worldwide and they soon were on international tours. They performed to sold out venues internationally. Therefore, it is without surprise that influential American preacher, the world-renowned Bishop TD Jakes is in Zimbabwe to be part of this remarkable group’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

So far so good

“It was a great experience on the opening day of the festival with Bishop Java delivering a powerful sermon about being set for a comeback,” he said.

Madziyire said the festival has a number of activities at HICC and the National Sports Stadium, as ZimPraise Choir celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Gospel artistes, such as Michael Mahendere, Takesure Zama and Mathias Mhere, are expected to share the stage with international acts.
