Hidden in plain sight, a novel by Derrick Thobolo sounds like it would be rife with wry humour and witty antics in the vein of a TV show. But aside from it being penned by a somewhat unknown author, this novel is surprisingly down to earth. You could say it’s downright honest and revealing, because, essentially, that’s what it is: a modern-day revelation of the mystery of the dark world.
The author of this book Derrick Thobolo narrates a very gripping story about how the devil tried to recruit him into the dark side, when he was 9 years old.
The Botswana born writer narrates the reality of another world we do not see with our naked eyes, “the world of spirit beings. Satan and his demons are real God is more real than we could image.” He argues
Not that there’s anything wrong with that. In fact, Hidden in Plain Sight, is a refreshing, albeit enlightening, change of pace from the grittier, fast-paced fictional thrillers crowding for space on bookshelves in many a book store. This is a Christian book narrating a true testimony.
A chilling testimony
At its heart is a chilling true story of a 15-year-old boy who battles with demons and evil spirits. Things got physical after he got kidnapped in Palapye Botswana and was taken away in high speed cars by men who threatened to kill him if he did not give his life to the devil.
Derrick Thobolo brings a fresh perspective on the topic of existence of the dark world and the devil in his new book, Hidden in Plain Sight. Derrick bases a good amount of his book on the assumption that a good number of Christians are unaware the dark world, the devil and his demons are hidden right in our midst, they are not in a separate universe.
Hidden in plain sight
Derrick writes his account in a chronological way which makes it easy to follow his teaching and testimonies.
He outlines his encounters into dreams and voices and physical manifestation of angels.
Derrick weaves in occasional testimonies, and scriptures to support his narrative, but, overall opts for a more subtle and touching narrative of secrets long buried, lost love and self-discovery that will stay with readers well after reaching the end of this story.
Hidden in Plain Sight, will win the reader over due to its unrelenting number of motivating stories and eye-opening scripture points regarding how to “defeat the devil” in as much as the devil and his demons try to fight the name of Jesus Christ is our victory banner. You’ll have the urge to leap out of your seat and roundhouse-kick Satan in the face upon completion
